Homemade Face Masks for Oily Skin

There are various reasons why people have oily skin. This can be something hereditary or can be caused by your diet. Oily skin can also be symptoms of pregnancy or caused by birth control pills. Oily skin can also be caused by the cosmetics you use or even the hot and humid weather.

If you have oily skin, your diet should be rich in protein. Take a lot of fruits and leafy and green vegetables. Taking vitamin B2 can also help. Drinking lots of water can help flush out your body toxins to keep your face fresh. Stay away from pork and foods that are high in fat and oil.

Another good way to help you combat oily skin is to use homemade face masks. There are many types of homemade facial masks that you can do on your own right in the comfort of your own home. You can find the ingredients in your local grocery or right in your kitchen cabinet. Here are some yummy and effective organic homemade facial masks that you can use:

Strawberry and Yogurt Homemade Face Mask

Take 4 fresh strawberries and smash it up with a fork. Add a teaspoon of plain yogurt. Mix until you have a smooth consistency. Apply the mask on your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. This will help you exfoliate your oily skin and get rid of sebum on your pores.

Honey and Apple Homemade Face Mask

You can start with this yummy mask by grating one fresh apple then adding 4 tbsp of honey. Mix the two ingredients well then apply to your face for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water.

Avocado Homemade Face Mask

Mash half an avocado until soft, then add one teaspoon of lemon juice and egg white (separate the egg yolk). Use a blender to mix up all ingredients until thick. Apply on face for 20 minute then rinse with lukewarm water.

Banana Homemade Face Mask

If you love bananas, your face will love it too. Use a one ripe banana then add a teaspoon of honey and drops of lemon or orange. Apply the mask for 15 minutes on your face then rinse with a cool or steamed wash cloth.

Green Clay Homemade Face Mask

To create your green clay facial mask, you need 1 tbsp of green clay, 1 tsp apricot kernel oil, and 3 drops of palamarosa essential oil. Mix the oils together then add a few drops of warm water in the mixture. Mix weal then add the clay. It should have a paste-like consistency. Apply the mask on your face and leave on for 10 minutes then rise with warm washcloth.

Strawberry and Honey Homemade Mask

This is something similar to the strawberry and yogurt mask but instead of yogurt, you add in 1 tsp of lemon juice, 2 egg whites, 3 tsp of honey and a cup of fresh strawberries. You can add 4 drops of your favourite essential oil. You can mash or blend all the ingredients and let leave on your face for ten minutes then rinse.
